  5. Soft keys • There are many functions performed with the soft keys. The functions displayed change dependent on how the phone is being used. • One convenient feature offered via the soft keys is the “idivert” feature. When receiving a call, pressing “idivert” will send the caller straight to you voicemail. • Another popular feature is the call forwarding feature. You are able to forward calls to an alternate number or straight to your voicemail. BACK Back to Index

  6. Message Indicator • The Message light on the hand set will flash to indicate that you have new voicemails in your inbox. • You will also see an envelope in the display screen. BACK Back to Index

  7. Headset Button • The Headset button allows you to use your phone in headset mode. BACK Back to Index

  8. Speaker Button • The Speaker button allows you to use your phone in speakerphone mode. BACK Back to Index

  9. Mute Button • The Mute button toggles microphone muting on and off. BACK Back to Index

  10. Messages Button • The Messages button dials into the voicemail service. • You will be prompted to enter your voicemail password to retrieve your messages. BACK Back to Index

  13. Directories Button • The Directories button provides access to call logs, including records of missed, placed, and received calls. • The Directories button also provides access to the Lamar University directory. BACK Back to Index

  14. Help Button • The Help button allows you to access a comprehensive online help system on your phone. • Press the Help button twice to display instructions about how to use the help feature. BACK Back to Index

  15. Programmable Buttons • Programmable buttons are configurable. • They can represent phone lines, speed dial numbers, or special features or services. BACK Back to Index

  16. Options for Programming • The first button represents your ext. The screen will display all incoming calls for your ext. • The other available buttons can be programmed for: • A Bridge: Gives you complete access to another extension. • Busy Indicator: You are able to see when the extension is in use and also serves as an auto dial to that extension. • Speed Dial: Button automatically dials a preset extension.   17. Softkey Buttons • Four softkey buttons are located on the faceplate of your phone, just beneath the phone screen. • Softkey buttons correspond to the softkey options that appear along the bottom of your phone screen. BACK Back to Index

  18. Navigation Button • The Navigation button allows you to scroll through calls and menu items on your phone. BACK Back to Index

  19. Volume Button • The Volume button controls the volume of the handset or speaker, depending on which is in use. • When the phone is idle, pressing the Volume button changes the ringer volume. BACK Back to Index

  20. Keypad Buttons • Keypad allows you to dial phone numbers, enter letters, and choose menu items BACK Back to Index

  21. Hold Button • The Hold button places a call on hold, and switches between an active call and a call on hold. BACK Back to Index

  22. Voicemail • When you have a new voice message, your phone displays a steady red light on the handset. • You will also see a flashing envelope on your phone screen. • To listen to your voice messages, press the MSGS softkey button and follow the voice instructions. Back to Index NEXT

  23. Transferring Calls Direct Transfer: Press the Transfer softkey. Key in the phone ext. Press Transfer softkey to complete the transfer. Warm Transfer: Press the Transfer softkey. When the receiving party picks up you will have the option to speak with them before transferring the call. When you are ready to complete the transfer, simply press the Transfer softkey. Transfer to Voicemail: Press the Transfer softkey. Press the star (*) before the phone ext. Press the Transfer softkey to complete. NEXT Back to Index

  24. Call Log/Missed Calls • To view the Call Log, press the Directories button. Using the Navigation button, scroll to select Missed Calls, Received Calls, or Placed Calls. Back to Index NEXT

Conference Calls Use the Conference feature to add more parties to an established call. • Step 1: You must have a connected call to use this feature. • Step 2: Press the CONFRN softkey to add another party to the call. • Step 3: Enter the phone number of the conference participant. • Step 4: Once you have established a connection to the conference participant, press the CONFRN softkey again to add the new party to the call.
