GIWW Summary for Work 2010 • Dredged 360K cubic yards in GIWW reach east of Panama City • Performed disposal area maintenance • Rebuilt, repaired and armored disposal areas on land cut at Panama City • East of Panama City - performed rehabilitation work on 10 disposal areas and rebuilt/armored 13 weir (outfall) structures. • West of Panama City - worked only on one disposal area. Emergency repair of weir outfall, erosion repair and grassing. • Routine maintenance and repair of disposal areas west of Panama City • Erosion repairs in Foley Land Cut at Oyster Bay DA and DA 54

GIWWPlanned Work for 2011 • Planning to receive FDEP WQC in a few months • Currently operating under FDEP WQC permit extension - good through 3 Feb 2011 • FY11 funding allows a maximum of 3 months of dredging • When funding is available, channel availability will be improved as much as possible • Project Condition Surveys • Remaining funds will go towards disposal area maintenance

  21. EIS • EIS completed December 2009 • In process of authorizing 7 of 15 proposed developments • Other 8 are on hold • Limits number of marina slips to 1,943 initially • Condition permits with requirements for: • Marine Police • Boating education

OilSpill • Providing technical, regulatory and navigation expertise to the Unified Command • The Corps will monitor our projects very carefully for oil impacts • Projects are currently not effected by the oil • Future tests will be required for dredged material • Hazardous waste will be disposed of properly- EPA Regions 4 and 6
