  2. Goals • Understand why and how the colonies were founded • Describe conflicts between colonies and England and understand why there were conflicts • Compare influential people and events in the American Revolution • Understand how certain people and events influenced the American Revolution

Objectives • Students will read all 3 lessons in chapter 11 • Students will complete all vocabulary cards • Students will complete two on-line worksheets • Students will create one timeline • Students will complete one outline • Students will complete one webquest • Students will complete one power point presentation • Students will put together and perform one skit • Students will participate in class discussions • Students will take one quiz • Students will take one final test

  5. Lessons • You will read all three lessons in chapter 11

  6. Vocabulary • You will complete all vocabulary cards for ch.11

  7. Worksheets • You will complete two on-line worksheets

  8. Timeline • You will create a timeline of events that led up to the American Revolution • Your timeline will cover the time period between 1765-1783

  9. Outline • You will use the Inspiration program to outline one lesson in chapter 11

  10. WebQuest • Use the website provided here • Complete the entire WebQuest on this site

  11. Power Point • 1. Choose one of the following topics: Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, John Peter Zenger, Patrick Henry, Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, Townshend Acts, Boston Tea Party, Intolerable Acts, Boston Massacre, First Continental Congress • 2. five slides -the first slide is your cover slide with your topic and name • 3. at least three info. statements per slide • 4. use at least one graphic • 5. at least one hyperlink • 6. sound, animation, timing, toolbars -peer checklist

  12. Skit • 1. your skit groups will be posted on the classroom news board • 2. choose a scene/event/etc. from ch. 11 • 3. write out the scene/event/etc. in “play” format-decide who the characters are, who will say what, who will do what, etc. • -the content of your skit is more important than any props or costumes

  13. Class Discussion • You will participate in class discussions over ch. 11

  14. Quiz • You will take one quiz over the vocabulary cards

  15. Final Test • You will take a final test over ch. 11

  16. Assessment • Vocabulary Cards-50 points • 2 Worksheets-20 points each • 1 Timeline-20 points • 1 Quiz-30 points • 3 WebQuests-20 points each • Power Point-50 points • Perform a skit-50 points • Class Discussions-50 pointsinal Test-50 points
