  9. Topic Two: Placement into DevEd CCR Can students take ANY DevEd CCR course? No. Students should be placed according to their test placement scores. However--- • If students place into CCR 093 or CCR 094, they should take either one of these classes. Alternatively, students can take CCR 092 because they are allowed to take a CCR class with a required lower placement score. • If students place into CCR 092, they cannot take a CCR course that requires a higher placement score such as required in CCR 093 or CCR 094. • Initial contact with an advisor is critical so students can can be advised into the best DevEd class for them. When enrolling in a DevEd course, students must have an advisor’s signature on their Registration Form.

  10. Topic Two: Placement into DevEd Math 050 Can students take ANY DevEd Math course? No. Students should be placed according to their test placement scores. • In general, if students are interested in taking a 100 level Non-Transfer or Non-STEM math course, they should enroll in Math 050 (Quantitative Literacy). • If students plan to take Math 103, 107, 108, 109, 112, 120, 135, 155, or 156, they should enroll in Math 050. continued

  11. Topic Two: Placement into DevEd Math 055 • continued • If students have an EA (elementary algebra) score 60-84, they can enroll in Math 055 (Algebraic Literacy/STEM prep). • If students plan to take College Algebra 121 or 123, they should take Math 055. Math 055 includes content necessary for success in College Algebra. • Initial contact with an advisor is critical so students can be advised into the best class for them. Advisors will discuss the two math academic pathways based on career choice. • If students feel they have chosen the incorrect math pathway, they can take a different DevEd math course depending on their placement scores, or they can re-test. • When enrolling in a DevEd math, students must have an advisor’s signature on their Registration Form.
