  2. The Faculty of Medicine In 1948, there were 3 Faculties in University College Ibadan • Arts • Science • Medicine

  3. Students of Medicine Up till 1962, medical students of UCI took courses and graduated MB;BS from the University of London.

  4. Preclinical and Clinical Courses • Clinical training initially at Adeoyo and Jericho hospitals • Clinical teaching at the UCH Ibadan commenced on 7th October 1957

  5. University College Hospital 500-bed hospital built

  6. UI Autonomy and Medical Curriculum The University College Ibadan became University of Ibadan by the Act of Parliament on December 27, 1962. Medical Curriculum was then changed so that medical students would be trained better for the Nigerian environment

  7. From Faculty to College The Faculty of Medicine was restructured and became a College on August 1, 1980

  11. The College of Medicine At inception, there were only 2 Faculties • Basic Medical Sciences & Pharmacy • Clinical Sciences & Dentistry Postgraduate Institute for Medical Research & Training. Faculty of Pharmacy became autonomous with effect from 02 October, 2002.

  41. Dentistry in Ibadan is ever evolving. To address expansion, the University is constructing these structures to address office, service and lecture space

  42. IBADAN MEDICAL SPECIALIST GROUP PRECLICAL SCHOOL LIBRARY • The IMSG has pledged to build a 250-seater Library behind the Physiology and Pharmacology Departments.

  43. Institute of Maternal and Child Health The Tertiary Education Trust Fund has committed significant amount of money to build a 4-storey structure to develop the Institute of Maternal and Child Health
