  3. DISCUSSION GUIDE 1. Some theologians refer to the book of Isaiah as “The Gospel according to Isaiah.” Why? Isaiah’s prophecies about the coming Messiah are numerous, descriptive and accurate.

  4. DISCUSSION GUIDE 2. How many years before Christ did Isaiah prophesize about Him? 720 years before the Messiah.

  5. DISCUSSION GUIDE 3. What is the meaning and significance of the name Isaiah? The meaning of the name Isaiah is literally the salvation of Jehovia. Isaiah would write eloquent prophecy’s about the coming Savior of the world.

  6. DISCUSSION GUIDE 4. Where is the book of Isaiah located in the Bible? It is exactly in the middle of the Bible. There are 66 books in the Bible and 66 chapters in Isaiah.

  7. DISCUSSION GUIDE 5. How did Isaiah die? He was fleeing for his life and hid in a hollowed out tree trunk. Manasseh’s army sawed the tree in half thus sawing Isaiah in half.

  10. DISCUSSION GUIDE 8. What is the significance of Isaiah using the word “comfort” in (40:1)? He was assuring the Israelites that God was still in control and their time of punishment was coming to an end.

  14. DISCUSSION GUIDE 12. What is the promise of (Isaiah 40:8)? Everything else will fade away but God’s word is eternal. You can take it to the bank.

  19. FINDING HOPE AND COMFORT His Body – We find hope in our relationships in the Body of Christ. Opening His Word – Spending time in God’s Word adds hope for life’s trials. Prayer Power – Our prayer life gives us direct access to God’s power. Eternal Living – Living each day like you are living forever should add hope to your future.

  20. Thanksgiving for a Savior • Hope in a sovereign God • Victory in all things through Christ • Praise for the promises of God
