Procurement Consultancy - Case Study Delivery of savings exceeded the target by more than 200%. Challenge Our client, a leading international airline, had embarked on a programme of transformation of their finance and procurement functions. They recognised the need to transform and improve the service to internal customers and the contribution that procurement delivered to the business but had to maintain current operations and ensure continuity of supply across the business. With many different internal customers and a fast paced, high demand on scarce procurement transformation of the function whilst maintaining operational delivery was going to be difficult. Solution Apsiz Services worked in partnership with our clients procurement team to implement and embed category management principles whilst maintaining current delivery. The focus was on improved governance and engagement at senior levels. Spend analysis was initiated using a standard category structure aligned to the business structure, combining monthly spend analysis with supplier performance data. Performance measurement was provided at an executive, functional and category team level. Development, approval and communication of category strategies provided a three to five-year view of the planned approach to key suppliers and markets.A programme management function was established to assure and focus on the delivery of specific category strategies and initiatives, combined with standardised category management processes and with a training programme to support the adoption of the process to embed category management as a discipline. Client successfully awarded a major public sector contract as a sole supplier for 4 years with a value of up to £80M. Bid Management - Case Study Challenge For over 5 years, our client had been unsuccessful in trying to secure places on major public sector framework agreements and as a result there was a steady decline in revenue. Undertaking an audit of previous bids submitted confirmed that there were consistent issues with bid responses despite securing competitive commercial scores in most tenders. Solution Apsiz Services began by undertaking an in-depth review of 3 of the most recent public sector bids submitted by our client. It was immediately evident that the client was failing to both clarify requirements and failed to answer the quality related questions in a manner that enabled an evaluator to award full marks. The client was not paying full attention to all the key scoring components in the questions or appropriately weighting their responses. A full review of our findings was provided to the Account and Bid Management teams, and we began working with the client to create a more formalised approach to bid management, building in time for more internal and external quality assurance and more accurately reflect their service capability for the next 2 major forthcoming public sector contracts. Apsiz Services also scored and evaluated the bid in the same way as the Contracting Authority would during the evaluation process and providing constructive feedback. Following several iterations and reviews, Apsiz Services were able to ensure our client scored optimum marks on the qualitative questions and therefore addressed previous poor / low scoring responses. Specialist Recruitment - Case Study 100% of roles recruited were through Apsiz Services. Challenge Our client is a specialist private sector consultancy, providing support to Central Government departments on areas relating to biometrics, ICT, cyber security and telecommunications. Our client had seen significant growth within their key accounts which urgently required more specialist resource to be recruited to deliver several challenging projects. The client had no internal capacity or specialist recruitment expertise that could quickly identify suitable candidates. There was an additional requirement for SC and DV cleared candidates who would be available to work at multiple UK locations. Solution Due to the lack of internal resource and pressurised timescale Apsiz Services managed the end to end process for recruitment. Apsiz Services managed the pre-screen, selection and shortlisting of candidates through to managing telephone and face to face interviews. Requirements included individuals that had SC and/or DV clearance, experience of working with Public Sector regulations, category, management and had covered categories relating to ICT, biometrics, cyber security and telecommunications. Due to the extensive Apsiz Services network, we were able to find candidates within 10 working days, sift them and ensure their availability to the client.
