  2. Memory Verse • Listening: The Word of God and Prayer • “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” – Psalm 119:11 • What does this verse tell us? • Memorizing Scripture helps prevent sin • How? • For the whole context, read Psalm 119:9-16.

  3. Ruth’s Context • During the time of the judges • Just before Samson • 1175-1125 BC • Social and religious disorder because of Israel’s cycle of rebellion (Judges 17:6, 21:25) • Set in Bethlehem, then Moab, then back in Bethlehem
