  3. Outcome Participants will understand the Self-Assessment process and subsequent development of the Teacher Professional Learning Plan (TPLP) LM

  4. APS Evaluation processes • Self-Assessment • Completed by the end of August • Teacher (or Principal) Professional Learning Plan • Completed in collaboration with evaluator and based on self-evaluation and school goals (UIP) by the end of first quarter • Observations (minimum number) • 4 informals (minimum 10 minutes) per year • 1 formal for non-probationary teachers • 3 formals for probationary teachers • Ongoing evidence/artifact collection by teacher and evaluator – not required for every element and standard • Mid year review by the end of second quarter • Final ratings and end of year review by the end of April LM

Preparing for Self-Assessment Whole staff: • Review our UIP goals and any trends in student achievement at our site that informed the development of our UIP • Identify quality standards, elements and professional practices that support the UIP goals and accelerate growth of students Individuals/small groups (e.g. PLCs, grade level teams, content teams): • Complete Self-Assessment on all Quality Standards with particular attention paid to data-identified areas of student need LM

  12. Next meeting • Inter-rater activity for TPLP, bring at least one TPLP and its corresponding Self-Assessment to share from your building • Overview of the rest of the TPLP form and process • Informal observations – ongoing data collection MS

  13. Next steps • Complete your Self-Assessment and send it to me electronically by August 31, 2013. • Complete the first two questions on the TPLP by September 12, 2013 • See the secretary to schedule a TPLP meeting with me between September 13 and October 10, 2013. ms

  14. Feedback • Monthly P-20 survey will include questions related to this presentation • PTE web page will include a survey open during the first week of each month to capture participants’ feedback related to the process ms
