  3. SCHE = Associate degree Meets the general criteria Within the Professional Bachelor Offered by ‘Hogescholen’ (UAS) 120 ects (can be some more) Relevant for the labour market Ad + 120 ects = Bachelor (240 ects) Target groups: students VET / employees / students not willing to take the B-route

  4. NLQF 8 levels Level 5 = Ad The only one qualification at level 5 Discussions on:- VET-4…- General Education 6 years (pre-university)

  5. Developing the ‘Ad’… We had short-HPE in 1999 Leido started with the discussions for having SCHE EURASHE-report 2003 was important Partners: Employers’ organisations + fast running HEIs… 2006: first pilots 2011: Good evaluation 2013: Law and all regulations for SCHE

  6. What will happen… VET + HE as serious partners Ad + 120-plus = Bachelor Fight the resistance by the HEIs against the Ad (status?) NLQF and a National Coordination Point:- non-formal qualifications at level 5- new diploma: Higher professional diploma More private activities… level playing field More attention for programmes for employers More discussion on flexibility Dutch Platform for the Ad including a national network with working groups
