HS and College Requirements • Students need to take 3 years of math during grades 9-12 to graduate from high school. • Students need to meet standard on Algebra 1 or Geometry End-Of-Course (EOC) exams or 11th grade Smarter Balanced Math Test to graduate from high school. • WA state public colleges require math through senior year (can be Algebra 2) or successful completion of math through Pre-Calculus. Some colleges may require 4 years of math.

  3. SHS Math Courses CC Algebra 1 CC Algebra 1 Lab LR: Learning Recommendations CC Geometry LR: B- or higher in Integrated Algebra B (8th grade math)OR C- or higher in Algebra 1 CC Geometry Lab CC Algebra 2 LR: C- or higher in Geometry

IB Diploma Options • IB Math HL exam: Complete IB Math 1, IB Math 2 and IB Math 3. • IB Math SL exam: Complete IB Math 1 and IB Math 2. • IB Math Studies SL exam:Complete IB Math Studies concurrently with Pre-Calculus or Calculus. • IB Math 1, IB Math 2 and IB Math 3 are courses taken during the school day. IB Math Studies meets 1-2 hours per week after school starting in May of the previous school year.
