  4. Position the image Launch the scanner software Preview the scan Capture the image

  6. The density of dots that represent an image. Think grid. What is resolution?

  7. Monitor displays, either presentation software or web-based Set resolution at Mac platform = 96 PC platform = 72 Printed copy Set resolution at 300 Typical resolutions

  8. Set the scan image size The larger the image size, the bigger the file size. Set the resolution The larger the value for resolution, the larger the file size. Final scan

  9. File types Print Formats • TIFF works for print. • BMP works with image-editing applications. WebFormats • GIF works for text and block color images. • JPEG works for pictures with lots of color variations.
