  2. The Rule of St. Benedict • The Rule can lead to team success • Excellence (best you can be) = Holiness • True Leadership = human factor is the most important element • Constant Growth is the goal • Order (discipline) with Flexibility (change) • Moderation is the key (well-rounded)

The Rule, Chapter 2 • Place of Christ – teach according to His instruction • The Leader is responsible for the flock yielding no profit • Lead by example more than words, and give the commandments to receptive disciples with words • Avoid all favoritism - show equal love • Change the ranks of others as you see fit, as JUSTICE demands

The Rule, Chapter 2 • Lead others according to where they are in the journey • Use argument, appeal & reproof – 2 Tim 4:2 • More is expected to which more has been entrusted • Keep the flock from dwindling, rejoice when it increases • Do not show too great of concern for the fleeting/temporal things, rather seek first the kingdom of God • No EXCUSES (lack of resources, etc.)

  7. A Strong, positive culture is the goal • Mutual Respect and Trust • Openness and encouragement to “find a better way” are the norm - change and growth are desired • “Family” feeling • Faith enrichment - the spiritual dimension • Laughter & fun - loose but focused Identifiable Characteristics
