TOF-TRD pretrigger • TOF detector can provide trigger bits • Calibration/Alignment Azimuthal sector: 4 TOF quadrants LTM LTM Max segmentation: 4x12 = 48/quadrant 4x48 = 192/azim. sector Total 18x192 = 3456 bits Dark rate each bit 240 Hz 4x 2x 12x 3x • Max segmentation difficult to implement, feasible 2x3=6 cells/quadrant • Total 6x4x18 = 432 bits • Each cell represents TOF area 1.2x0.35 m2 • dark rate of each cell 8x240 Hz ~ 2kHz

Cosmic trigger • Segmentation A: 2 in z, 36 in azimuth (1 bit/quadrant) • Segmentation B: 6 in z, 72 in azimuth (6 bits/quadrant) • Cosmic trigger coincidence 2 bits • Cosmic trigger coincidence 2 bits opposite in z and azimuth  Reverse Single Track (RST) • Dark rate A: dark rate/quadrant: 48x240 Hz ~ 12 kHz • Acc. rate/quadrant = 2tR1R2 = 7.2 Hz (t=25 ns) • any pairs of quadrants (2556)  total dark rate 18.4 kHz • pairs of back to back quadrants (36)  total dark rate 260 Hz • Dark rate B: dark rate per cell ~ 2 kHz • Acc. rate = 2tR1R2 = 0.2 Hz • any pairs of cells (93096)  total dark rate 18.4 kHz • pairs back to back cells (216)  total dark rate 44 Hz (rate A/6)
