  21. 04 Trouble Shooting

  22. Compressor Check Procedure [ Check Procedure whether Failed or Not ] [ First Check – Electric Performance ] 1. Purpose : To Check the Motor Winding 2. Remove the compressor wiring from the terminal 3. Clean up the compressor terminal 4. Check the Dielectric Resistance 5. Check the Motor Winding Resistance ( Ohm Tester) : Main and Sub

  23. Compressor Check Procedure [ Second Check – Hammering Test ] 1. Check the “ hammering” of compressor only in CASE “1-A”, “1-C”, “1-E” from first check. 2. Remove the “S” wire in compressor terminal. 3. Compressor Run for Hammering Check. R ☞ Caution ! 1. Do not exceed 3 second for hammer test 2. Do not test in CASE “1-B”, “1-D”, “1-F” from first check. S C Remove the “SUB” Terminal 4. Judgment

  24. Compressor Check Procedure [ Third Check – Running Test ] 1. Check the Running Test of compressor only in CASE “1-A” from first check. 2. Connect all wire in Compressor Terminal. 3. Compressor Run for running check. ☞ Caution ! 1. Compressor terminal cover must tightly fasten before test. 2. Do not exceed 10 second for Running test if compressor is removed already from the unit. 3. Do not test except in CASE “1-A” from first check. 4. Judgment

  25. Final Judgment [ Final Judgment ]

  26. Trouble Shooting & Service Chart

  27. Chattering Sound [ Symptoms ] When a rotary compressor is started, a “chattering” sound be heard for the first few seconds of operation. [ Vane Chattering Sound ] 1. Causes : Liquid Refrigerant being returned to the compressor. 2. Process - Liquid refrigerant is incompressible → Sudden rise of pressure in the Cylinder - Overpressure acts on the tip radius of the vane - Vane is lifted off the rolling piston - The pressure equalizes between the compressed and suction sides of the cylinder 3. This is called vane chatter and is a common characteristics of Rotary Compressor After few seconds, the chattering sound will be disappeared.
