  2. History The Celtic People were a tribal society first documented around 800 BC in central Europe. They moved around Europe over the centuries. The areas in green on the map are the places where Celtic languages are still spoken today.

  3. Geography Ireland is an island, part of the continent of Europe.

  4. History Immigration: Around 1845, Ireland suffered from a famine. Many, many people left Ireland to go to Canada and the United States.

  5. History Potato: This was the main crop of Ireland and during the famine, a disease killed most all of the potatoes.
