  1. Open House • Welcome to Doerre!! • This year will be learning about Lab Safety, Matter and Energy, Force and Motion, Earth and Space, Rocks and Minerals, and Organisms and their Environment

  2. About Me • This is my 17th year to teach • I am teaching 6th grade Pre-AP/GT science and 7th grade Math Improvement this year • My conference period is 6th period 2:07-2:56

Grading Guidlines • Major assignments include tests (CCAs and DCAs), some labs and projects • Major labs and projects typically take more than 1 day to complete • Deduction of 10 pts/day up to the 4th day if turned in late • Students will be provided opportunities to attend tutorials for re-teaching if necessary – For CCAs and DCAs • Students will be allowed to retake a failed test after the test has been signed by a parent and has been returned.

  5. Grading Guidlines • Daily assignments include classwork, quizzes, some labs • Daily assignments are typically due the day after they are assigned • There will be a 20 point reduction in the grade if the assignment is turned in late – up to 3 days and then a zero will be entered. • Zero’s are not allowed in my class so the assignment will still be completed and turned in. The grade will be averaged with the zero
