  3. Pepper, Then and Now • (Today we take pepper for granted when they use to take it like if it was gold.) • Pepper is common today because world travel time has shrunk dramatically. • American have pepper for one or two days not years. • Arab is lost their monopoly.

  4. Trade Revives • Stop by sea began by land. • The sea route is dangerous, overland route is worse. • The grim mountain ranges and bleak, forbidding desert of Asia is the rout that they took.
