The 2012 Point In Time (PIT) Survey, conducted by the Homeless Planning Council of Delaware, aimed to provide a comprehensive snapshot of the homeless population in the state on a designated night, January 31, 2012. This count is essential for communities receiving McKinney-Vento funding and includes individuals in emergency, transitional, and permanent supportive housing, as well as those using hotel vouchers. The methodology involved utilizing DE.CMIS data combined with direct surveys, although limitations were noted regarding missing data. Future plans include the inclusion of unsheltered persons in upcoming counts.
