Class News Dear Parents, I hope you all enjoyed quality time with loved ones this past holiday season and had a cozy New Year with priceless memories to last for months to come. The year is starting off right with the students back in the procedures and routines of the classroom. There is always much to do and learn, so the students got right back to work! Birthdays: Several parents have also asked me about bringing treats for upcoming birthdays. Since there are 6 this month (Austin, Cianna, Nika, Alexis, Raegan, and Claire), I would like to celebrate them together on Friday, January 24th. Please bring something healthy if you would like for the class the last 10 minutes of school. Thank you. Lastly, I want to apologize for missing so many days this month. I would much rather be in the classroom than feeling mentally drained at the meetings. Please email me if you need to contact me. Students are learning to use place value to understand and compose numbers to 120.  We are learning how to identify even and odd numbers. We are using a 120 number chart to find numbers before, after and 10 more and 10 less.  We will also be working on comparing two digit numbers to 120 using the symbols <, =, and >. We are also learning how to add a two-digit number to a one-digit number and a multiple of 10. Next week we will be learning how to tell time to the hour and half hour. Math News
