  11. ~ Episodes ~

  12. I Do??? Engagement Festival: Imilchil, Morocco Upwards of 20,000 tribes people gather to arrange marriages. The Travelers help a family prepare their young daughter for a potential groom, causing Jessica, the Bride, to confront her issue of marrying the only man she’s ever dated. At the end of the episode, Jessica calls her fiancé to say she can’t marry him. We’ll have to see what really happens when she gets home.

  13. The Moose is LooseMoose Dropping Festival: Talkeetna, Alaska After the snow melts, what’s left are millions of moose droppings. One town has turned its cleanup into a huge annual event—the highlight being the Moose Nugget Tossing Contest! The Travelers help the organizers get ready for the annual contest. Jeffery, the App Designer, starts to realize that he wants to write about all the crazy adventures they’re having, and become a travel-writer. At the end of the episode, Jeffery calls his old boss to say thank you for laying him off because it forced him to really look at what he wants out of life.

  14. Booze CruiseBeer Can Regatta: Darwin, Australia A regatta of seaworthy boats made entirely out of beer cans! The Travelers help the previous year’s winner build and race their boat, hoping for a second consecutive win. Robert, the Bored Nine-to-fiver in the group, really comes alive and is the most determined to help win the race. He realizes this is the most fun he’s had in years. At the end of the episode, Robert calls his wife to say, he wants to quit his job, and start a new career. Needless to say, his wife is shocked by the news. He’ll have to deal with those repercussions when he gets home.

  15. Me Jane The Nekowiar Festival:Tanna Island, Vanuatu Thousands of natives from neighboring villages gather to cement alliances between clans. It’s the most spectacular of pageants in the Pacific, ending with a pig sacrifice and feast. The Travelers find themselves making elaborate feathered headdresses, tasseled grass skirts and learning tribal dances for the festival. Mary, the Divorcee, totally falls for a villager, and realizes there’s hope to find love again—or, at the very least, have a fun fling! At the end of the episode, Mary calls her ex to say she forgives him for leaving her, and is moving on with her life. Maybe it’s the best thing he could have done! Their marriage hadn’t been all that great in a long time.

  16. The Final Good-byeTorajan Funeral Feast: Sulawesi, Indonesia A place where funerals are elaborate occasions lasting a week. There’s ritual dances. Buffalo and pigs are given as offerings to the deceased. A life-sized effigy is built. It ends with the coffin being run up to a cliff-side graveyard. This is poignant for the one who has lost their twin to cancer. Vincent is finally able to say good-bye to his brother. At the end of the episode, he calls his mom and they both have a good, hard cry. Finally, releasing all the pain of missing.

  17. LEAVE OF ABSENCE ~ Series Overview ~

  18. Season Premiere This series starts at home with each of the travelers, as they get ready for their adventure. We find out who they are and why they’re taking a Leave of Absence. What crossroad are they at in their lives that make them need time away from it all? What life-altering decision do they hope to resolve? The season premiere ends with everyone meeting at an airport hanger for the first time to leave for the adventure that will change their lives--literally.

  19. Weekly Show Each episode will involve the whole group at a new location and event, but the story will mostly focus on one Traveler and their monumental decision. At the end of the episode that traveler will make a phone call that will profoundly affect life as they know it. It is a phone call that forces them to make the decision they took a Leave of Absence for. One phone call happens per episode. (The person the Traveler is calling could possibly be filmed too.) While an episode primarily revolves around one Traveler, there wll be stories about the others as well, underscoring how the overall adventure continually affects each of them in ways they never imagined—even once they have made their decision and phone call. The group will travel with a guidebook that tells them key information: where they’re going, the big event that’s happening, it’s significance, and whom they’re trying to help get ready for that event—their local host. Each Traveler will also carry a world phone. The Travelers will either live with the people they’re helping, or very near-by. They’ll have to deal with language and cultural barriers on their own. There’s no show host, guide or interpreter there to help them. Each Traveler will have a critical job(s) they must do to help get ready for the big event. Their local host will assign them jobs.

  20. Season Finale The series closes with everyone returning home to begin the next chapter of their life. We’ll see if they follow through on their decisions once back to their reality. Maybe... The Bride, Jessica, has a change of heart once she’s reunited with her finance. Mary, the Divorcee, goes out on her first blind date in 23 years. Jeffery, the App Designer, turns down a huge offer in his industry for an entry-level writing job with a travel magazine. Vincent, the Lost Twin, finally puts away the memories of his brother. Robert, the Nine-to-fiver, actually quits his boring job and decides to divorce his unsupportive wife.
