  2. What You Capitalize What a Capital Idea! • All Names are capitalized as PROPER NOUNS • People • Places • Names of specific things • You also capitalize reference to yourself (I) – which are not used in essays. Ever. • Titles of things, places, or people are also capitalized • Duke • Queen

  3. Punctuation What you say should be what you mean! • Periods end a thought. Always. • You never have more than one punctuation mark at the end of a sentence unless it is an elipsis … • That means you don’t do this!!!!!!!! • Or this?!?!?! • You CAN use a period inside quotation marks, IF it is the end of the sentence and not just the quote. • If you have more than a couple commas in your sentence, you probably need to rephrase your sentence.
