  1. Perfect Paragraphs As simple as…S. In Yal and something more, 2nd person narrative and recurring motif are used by the composer to engross the reader in the short story. EX. “You see? Do you understand Yal’s dilemma?”. TE uses the 2nd person narrative in the form of a rhetorical question. EF This speaks directly to the reader and creates a more intimate connection between the reader and the action. EX “Something more” is in the title – and is repeated several times in the story which creates a TE recurring motif. EF The motif establishes the theme and “glues” the ideas in the story together. L. The writer engages the reader in Yal and something more in a substantial way through the effective use of 2ndperson narrative and recurring motif.
