  3. used • Heating large buildings, pools, and resorts • Greenhouses • District heating and cooling • Have heat pumps under these to generate heat within the areas heated • Heat removed from the building can also be used as hot water • Helps states meet their renewable energy portfolio

  4. advantages • Power plant provide a steady baseload • Provide power for decades • Produces small amounts of pollution compared to fossil fuels • Heat about 150,000 homes by using only 600 thermal megawatts of energy

  5. disadvantages • Power plants are located in rural areas or in the state by cities • To get this all over this will cause an upgrade in the system • To discover more geothermal wells will increase to 80% • Cost to generate has dropped by 25%
