Standard English Usage - Monica will demonstrate correct use of Standard English in speaking and writing. Monica will use correct verb forms and tenses with 75% accuracy. • 2c. Mechanics and Spelling - Monica will demonstrate appropriate language mechanics in writing. Monica will demonstrate correct use of punctuation and recognize its effect on sentence structure including: i. commas ii. Quotation marks iii. apostrophes, colons, and semicolons iv. hyphens, dashes, parentheses, and brackets with 75% accuracy. • 3d. Sentence Structure - Monica will demonstrate appropriate sentence structure in writing. will correct fragments with 75% accuracy.

Literal Understanding - Monica will recognize text structures such as compare and contrast, cause and effect, and chronological ordering with 80% accuracy. • 2b. Inferences and Interpretation - Monica will draw inferences such as conclusions, generalizations, and predictions, and support them with text evidence and personal experience with 80% accuracy. • 3a. Summary and Generalization - Monica will identify the main idea and supporting details by producing summaries of text with 80% accuracy.

  12. Math goal • Standard 1: Number Sense and Algebraic Operations - Monica will use expressions and equations to model number relationships with 80% accuracy. • 1b. Equations and Formulas - Monica will solve literal equations involving several variables for one variable in terms of the others with 80% accuracy. • 1d. Equations and Formulas - Monica will solve two-step and three-step problems using concepts such as rules of exponents, rate, distance, ratio and proportion, and percent with 80% accuracy. • 2a. Expressions - Monica will simplify and evaluate linear, absolute value, rational and radical expressions with 80% accuracy.

  13. Lessons learned • My tells: nods, “ok”, “yes” • My results mirrored the student’s academic performance • Time consuming • BUT, need to know when it comes to reporting data/present levels • 1st year teaching – take it all in and ask for help
