  1. THE POWER OF BERGAMOT OIL 9uses for Bergamot Essential oil

  2. 1. REDUCE ANXIETY • Bergamot oil is often inhaled as a way to reduce anxiety. No extra mental sharpness here! Look to bergamot strictly for relaxation and stress relief.

  3. 2. SKIN CONDITIONS Many have used bergamot as a treatment for the skin condition known as psoriasis by applying it directly to the skin. Due to its antiseptic properties, this oil can be used as a medicine in certain situations. As a therapy, it is recommended to use bergamot in conjunction with UV light.

  4. 3. DISINFECTANT • This amazing oil can protect the body from parasites such as lice. It could be a wonderful preventative treatment if there is a known outbreak in schools and other areas where lice can be a common problem.

  5. 4. DEODORANT • Bergamot oil has a sweet, spicy smell. If you need a fast fix or want something completely natural, you can add 10 drops of bergamot oil to some water in a spray bottle and spritz on as needed. Spray it all over your body for a refreshing, calming pick-me-up. You can add the oil directly to your armpits and it shouldn’t cause irritation, but it’s a good idea to test it on a small patch of skin first, just to be sure.

  6. 5. DIGESTION • Bergamot oil helps stimulate the production of digestive juices. Research has shown that it might even be good when battling food poisoning because of its antibacterial properties.

  7. 6. INSECT REPELLANT • Add bergamot oil it to a carrier oil such as jojoba or almond—10 drops of bergamot per 250 milliliters of oil. Mix and then apply as needed before going out.

  8. 7. MOUTH WASH • To use as a mouth wash add two or three drops of essential oil to a small amount of water. This application can be used to treat halitosis, mouth infections, sore throat and tonsillitis.

  9. 8. PAIN REDUCTION • Bergamot oil will increase hormone secretions and reduces nerve sensitivity and therefore pain. The oil is known for reduction of symptoms associated with strains, headaches and muscle aches.

  10. 9. SKIN IMPROVEMMENT • Bergamot is extensively used in cosmetics and skin care products such as beauty soaps, creams, and lotions. This essential oil is commonly used to eliminate the unsightly effects of acne, which can leave noticeable scars and marks on the affected areas for many years.

  11. A Few Words of Caution • Bergamot oil must be protected from sunlight, because bergaptene, one of its components, becomes poisonous if exposed to sunlight. That is why the oil should always be stored in dark bottles in dark places. Exposure to sunlight should even be avoided after it is applied or rubbed onto the skin, at least until it absorbs into your skin.
