The Early Years. Minibeasts. We learned all about the life cycle of a butterfly. It starts as an egg on a a leaf, then a caterpillar hatches. The caterpillar spins a cocoon (or pupa) and then becomes a beautiful butterfly!. Here is some of our writing about the butterfly life cycle.

  1. The Early Years Minibeasts

  2. We learned all about the life cycle of a butterfly. It starts as an egg on a a leaf, then a caterpillar hatches. The caterpillar spins a cocoon (or pupa) and then becomes a beautiful butterfly!

  3. Here is some of our writing about the butterfly life cycle.

  4. We counted in 5s and 10s using minibeasts. There are 5, 10, 15 bugs on the leaves!

  5. We also answered word problems about the hungry caterpillar…

  6. …and made symmetrical butterflies using 2D shapes.

  7. We spun spider webs using paper plates and wool.

  8. We made a garden centre in our classroom. Here are Chloe and Mia enjoying it!

  9. We searched for minibeasts and looked at them under a magnifying glass.
