Comprehensive Guide to Operational Modes and Measurement Specifications for Particle Transfer

This guide details the operational modes and measurement requirements for particle transfers, focusing on various frequencies (2.5 MHz and 53 MHz) and modes such as Flash, Injection, Display, Profile, and user-defined TBT. It outlines procedures for protons and anti-protons, including stacking and transfers to the Tevatron and collider operations. The specifications account for non-linearities in MI BPM pickups and are verified for conditions involving single coalesced bunches, short batches, and multibatch beams. Essential for ensuring precise and safe measurement practices.

  1. Operational Modes • Flash measurements (injection, extraction, safe) • Injection Frames • Display frames • Profile frames • User defined TBT measurements • Fast time plots • Applies to: • 2.5 MHz and 53 MHz • Intensity ranges • Bunch structures • Position and intensity data • State definitions and Data buffers Verified by_________________ ______ date

  2. Protons for anti-proton stacking and fixed target • Applies to: • All operational modes Verified by_________________ ______ date

  3. Proton transfers to the Tevatron (uncoalesced) • Applies to: • All operational modes Verified by_________________ ______ date

  4. Proton transfers for collider operation • Applies to: • All operational modes Verified by_________________ ______ date

  5. Anti-proton transfers from Accumulator/Recycler Ring • Applies to: • All operational modes Verified by_________________ ______ date

  6. Anti-proton transfers to the Tevatron • Applies to: • All operational modes Verified by_________________ ______ date

  7. 53 Mhz measurement Requirements Measurement specifications for 53 MHz bunch structure, narrow bandwidth mode. Values in parenthesis are for high bandwidth mode, with single turn resolution.  Because of the non-linearity intrinsic to the MI BPM pickups, this specification only applies when the beam is off center on only one of the planes. • Applies to: • Flash, Display, and TBT modes (both flash and user defined). • Single coalesced bunch, short (7 bunch) batch, full batch, multibatch beam. Verified by_________________ ______ date

  8. 2.5 Mhz Measurement Requirements Measurement specifications for 2.5 MHz bunch structure, narrow bandwidth mode. Values in parenthesis are for high bandwidth mode, with single turn resolution.  Because of the non-linearity intrinsic to the MI BPM pickups, this specification only applies when the beam is off center on only one of the planes. • Applies to: • Flash, Injection, Display, profile, and TBT modes (both flash and user defined) • 4 consecutive bunches.
