  1. Kingdom Values “No man ever went to heaven whose heart was not there before.” Dr. Robert South (1634-1713) 7/14/2019

  2. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

  3. John 15:4-5 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

  4. Colossians 3:12-13 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

  5. Matthew 6:16-18

  6. D. A. Carson “No voluntary act of spiritual discipline is ever to become an occasion for self-promotion.”

  7. Matthew 6:18 that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

  8. Matthew 6:19-21 - Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

  9. Matthew 6:19-20 - Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust (worms) destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

  10. Were you burned by acid?

  11. Ezekiel 16:13 - Thus you were adorned with gold and silver, and your clothing was of fine linen and silk and embroidered cloth. You ate fine flour and honey and oil. You grew exceedingly beautiful and advanced to royalty.

  12. Matthew 11:8 - What then did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in kings' houses. James 2:2 - For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in…

  13. 1 Peter 3:3 - Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— Proverbs 7:10 - And behold, the woman meets him, dressed as a prostitute, wily of heart.

  14. Matthew 6:19-20 - Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust (worm) destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

  15. Matthew 6:19-20 - Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

  16. Ecclesiastes 2:18-19 - I hated all my toil in which I toil under the sun, seeing that I must leave it to the man who will come after me, and who knows whether he will be wise or a fool? Yet he will be master of all for which I toiled and used my wisdom under the sun. This also is vanity.

  17. Matthew 6:19-20 - Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

  18. D. A. Carson “It is a poor bargain which exchanges the eternal for the temporal, regardless of how much tinsel is used to make the temporal more attractive.”

  19. Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
