KNOWLEDGE MASTER 9th Grade only Thursday November 29, 2012 Pds. 5,6,7 Please meet in the Library  (bring a bag lunch and a drink) KMO is a computerized competition in which a team of students will work together to answer 200 multiple choice questions within a limited time period.  The score will be tabulated based upon speed of response and accuracy of answers. NAI has established a tradition of excellence in this competition - join the team and don't forget to wear your SMARTY HAT ON YOUR HEAD!

  3. National Video Game Challenge If you are interested in this enrichment and have not yet signed up for the Edmodo site, please take a slip and do so by FRIDAY. More information to come very soon!

  4. AUK, AUK, AUK, AUK............... KNOWLEDGE MASTER  FOR 10TH GRADE  STUDENTS  Sophomores......demonstrate your "Aukademic Aukcellence"  on Friday November 30, 2012 periods 5,6 7  in the NAI Library. (please remember to bring a bag lunch)

  5. Photography Experience Time Travel with GOAL .... Explore the hidden jewels of The Allegheny Cemetery and then rush back through the portal to the hip artists' enclave called LOLA in this photography scavenger hunt. This enrichment will entail two sessions - a full day of photography and a second day of learning different methods of digital manipulation before publishing pictures for a GOAL Photo Gallery. It's the last day before break!!

  6. Feeling insane, powerful, silly, enraged, passionate, jealous or awkward? Put your Shakespearean emotions to good use. Try out for The Shakespearean Monologue Contest!  This year's audition is in March, but now is the time to sign up. Professional coaching, working with peers and even scene selection assistance can be provided!

COMPUTATIONAL LINGUISTICS TRAINING SESSION MEET WITH CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS AND GRADUATE STUDENTS FOR AN INTERACTIVE FUN-FILLED 90 MINUTES Mental Gymnasium It's like doing sit-ups with your brain When: Tuesday December 18, 2012 pds. 5,6,7 NAI Collaboration Room Please bring a bag lunch and your enthusiam for a new learning adventure!!!

National Computational Linguistics Olympiad • Compete against high school students across the United States • Sponsored by highly selective colleges and national corporations such as Carnegie Mellon University, U of Michigan, National Science Foundation and Intelligent Systems! • On Site Competition – NAI Library Conference Room • Minimal absence from classes • Regional exam date is January 31, 2013 ***WINNERS MAY QUALIFY FOR THE NATIONAL LEVEL COMPETITION*** REGISTER TODAY at: http://www.naclo.cs.cmu.edu/reg_student.php Mental Gymnastics-it’s like doing sit-ups with your brain!

  9.     A summer enrichment program run by the Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science for local area high school students. Students LEAP ahead ten years in their understanding as they are exposed to the frontiers of computer science research. Students interact with notable scientists, visit cool, leading-edge local companies and dive into their own projects. They emerge with a vivid overview of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon!   10. NATIONAL GERMAN EXAM Thursday January 24, 2013 Students who have pre-registered with their German teacher will receive instructions prior to the exam.  Please report promptly to the NAI library at the beginning of 2nd period.  

  11. Wednesday, January 30th - Save the Date!!! Imagine The Declaration of Independence being told through song and dance. Sounds ... interesting... and fun!.. doesn't it?!? Permission slips will soon be available, so check with the GOAL office next week. As a reminder, we can only accept checks for those activities requiring payment.
