  13. Assignment • We’ll do groupwork today. • Everyone will have an assignment. • Look at the amendment on your desk. • You should also see a dictionary. • The ultimate goal is to rewrite the amendment assigned to you using modern language.

  14. Assignment • One person will rewrite the amendment word for word on a sheet of paper. • One person will write down any words the group doesn’t understand. That person will look up the troublesome word in the dictionary and write down the definition. • One person will rewrite the amendment using modern words. To do this, you’ll need to know what all words mean.

Assignment • One person will draw a picture that is related to the group’s amendment. • Everyone will have to decide assignments amongst themselves. • I want you to turn in four sheets of paper – one per person. • If there is a fifth person in the group, that person will create a checklist in which he/she writes down everyone’s responsibility. He/she needs to write down whether or not each person has done his/her work.

  16. Due date • If you don’t finish in class, we can work on it in CORE.

  17. Assignment • This is due tomorrow: Create five new amendments to the Constitution. Each amendment must be at least one sentence. • For each amendment, each student will provide one sentence telling me why you created the amendment.
