  1. CCE measurements on ATLAS07 and ATLAS12 in Ljubljana • Setup • Alibava readout system, Kazu.ini settings • Keithley 2410 HV unit • 90Sr source • only detector cooled with Peltier element, not the readout chip • detectors • A12 irradiated with neutrons : 5e14, 1e15, 2e15, 5e15 • A12 irradiated with 70 MeV protons at KEK: 1.8e15, 2.5e15 • A12 irradiated with 26 MeV protons at Birmingham: 1e15 • A07 irradiated with neutrons: 5e14, 1e15 • CCE measurements • before and after annealing at 60 C • compare A07-A12 Igor Mandić, Jožef Stefan Institute, March 2014

  2. Neutrons, A12 • measurements of A12 detectors after neutron irradiations and after annealing for 80 min. at 60 C • at fluences 5e14 and 1e15 two detectors were measured (full and dashed lines) • there are variations between measurements  statistics needed Igor Mandić, Jožef Stefan Institute, March 2014

  3. Protons vs. neutrons • at lower voltages (below 800 V) more charge after protons than after neutrons at same fluence • seen also with A07 (oxygenated material) Igor Mandić, Jožef Stefan Institute, March 2014

  4. Charge vsfluence • charge vs. fluence at 500 V (triangles) and 900 V (squares) for different irradiations, • annealed 80 min at 60 C • at 500 V charge after protons higher than after neutrons Igor Mandić, Jožef Stefan Institute, March 2014

  5. Annealing, A12 detectors • compare charge measured before and after annealing for 80 minutes at 60 C • detector annealed in the Alibava setup (i.e. no mounting and dismounting ….) •  more annealing after 70 MeV protons (at Cyric) than after neutrons (in Ljubljana) Igor Mandić, Jožef Stefan Institute, March 2014

  6. ATLAS12 / ATLAS07 comparison • A07 and A12 irradiated with neutrons in same irradiation  fluences are the same • detectors irradiated together measured with same Beetle chip  chip gain the same • Comparison of 80 minutes at 60 C annealing factors • 5e14  A07 charge increases more (~30% vs. ~15%) at intermediate bias • 1e15  A12 charge increases more •  should compare with measurements from other groups Igor Mandić, Jožef Stefan Institute, March 2014

  7. ATLAS12 / ATLAS07 comparison • at 5e14 A07 much more chargethan A12 •  some difference would be expected because of different initial Vfd • almost no difference at 1e15 •  need more measurements by other labs to confirm 1e15 n 5e14 n Igor Mandić, Jožef Stefan Institute, March 2014

  8. ATLAS12 / ATLAS07 comparison Charge vs. fluence after 80 minutes annealing at 60 C  A07 detectors dashed lines  A07 measurements with SCT128 (data from 2010) at 5e14 not so much larger than A12 Igor Mandić, Jožef Stefan Institute, March 2014

  9. Long term annealing at 60° • A12 irradiated with neutrons to 1e15 • A07 irradiated with neutrons to 1e15, measured with SCT128 (old data, NIMA 629 (2011) 101) • (dashed line) • A12 and A07 annealing looks similar at this fluence 1e15 n Igor Mandić, Jožef Stefan Institute, March 2014

  10. Conclusions • A12 detectors measured after irradiation with neutrons and protons • at lower bias voltages (~ 500V) collected charge larger after protonsthen after neutrons • 80 minutes annealing at 60 C larger after 70 MeV protons than after neutron irradiation • comparison A07-A12 • after 5e14 neutrons and at 500 V ~30% more charge measured with A07 than with A12 •  more measurements needed to confirm • after 1e15 neutrons no significant difference • some differences of annealing factors after 80 minutes at 60 C •  after 5e14 neutrons A07 anneals more, after 1e15 A12 anneals more • at 1e15 similar long term annealing A07 and A12 • Future work: • Edge-TCT with A12 detectors • irradiation with 23 MeV protons in Karlsruhe and CCE and E-TCT after that Igor Mandić, Jožef Stefan Institute, March 2014
