Comenius visit to Italy October 2013 Creating awareness about human values through moral stories
What Comenius involves:-Meeting the host families and experiencing how they live-Getting to know things we have in common e.g. music like ‘one direction’-Trying typical food of the country you are visiting
-There is a whole school welcome for Comenius guests- This involves song and dance in the countries native language and the language of the project - English
-Mornings are spent in school -A typical European school day starts at 8 and ends at 1.15
Visits to the host schools involve: -Finding out how each country is developing the aims of the project -Italy chose Pinocchio as their representative moral story

Lasting impressions • The Italian passion for their country • The whole school welcome • Parental involvement And finally……. • Comenius is not a holiday but it does give the opportunity to travel and gain an insight into the culture of a country you might not otherwise visit. • There is an element of work involved both in the planning process over the two year period and in the follow up activities • The project is funded by British Council and like any grant application there needs to be evidence that the activities have taken place and had an impact in school
