What is a source?. A piece of evidence that is related to the period being studied. Archaeologist vs. anthropologist. Can anyone remember what an archaeologist does? Someone who studies the past by looking for and classifying material remains such as ruins, artefacts and bones.

  3. Sometimes evidence can be biased If you wanted to make out that a group of people from the past were mean and involved in many wars, what kind of evidence would you search for? Very nice, civilised and intelligent?

In Class Task / Homework Why study history? – pg. 4-5 • Define the following terms: civilisation, fossil, bias • Page 24 provides a glossary • Answer questions 1-2 • Write a paragraph explaining why it is valuable as a citizen of the world to study history • Answer questions 4 and 5 (a) & (b) • Make sure you write the question and answer
