Introductions • Susan Klosinski, M.Ed. • Head Classroom Teacher • Responsible for daily curriculum, skill evaluations and parent/teacher conferences

Academic Goals • Our goal is to maximize your child’s academic skills, gross and fine motor capabilities and sensory integration tolerance in a warm, caring and supportive environment.
Methods • Each child has an IEP, with details of the services to be received. • Some services will be provided in outside classrooms with special equipment. Your child will be accompanied during transitions by a teacher, therapist or aide. • Group learning activities will be incorporated every day.
Classroom Tour • Kidney-Shaped Table • Students work together on academic and fine motor projects • Puzzles, Play-Doh, Lacing Beads and Cards, Peg Boards, Pre-Writing, Coloring • Doubles as snack table
Classroom Stations • Manipulatives - pegs, puzzles, interlocking shapes • Imaginative Play - dress up, pretend house, trains/cars • Circle Time Carpet - Weather, Calendar • Art/Craft Center - paint, play-doh, glue, etc.
8:40 - 9:00 Good morning and fine motor activity 9:00 - 9:20 Circle Time: Alphabet, Days of the Week, Calendar, Story time 9:20 - 9:40 Imaginative Play 9:40 - 9:50 Clean Up Daily Schedule

Special Activities • In-School Field Trips: Gym, Music, Library • In-Class Visits from K-5 students: reading stories and presenting plays • Group Speech/PT/OT activities - themes include zoo animals, gardens, sea life, holiday celebrations • Classroom Parties: Halloween, Winter Holidays and End of Year • Birthday Parties - Optional
Parent/Teacher Communication Communication Journal • Separate journals used for head teacher, speech, OT and PT • Please send to school each day in your child’s backpack • Use journal to communicate questions/concerns, or to tell us about something special to your child (ie: a new toy, a family field trip, a game they want to play)
