  2. I. 什麼是財務金融? (What is Finance?) • 根據美國傳統學院字典 The American Heritage College Dictionary，“finance” (發音/iAatn@nk/ ) 這個字，當名詞時可有下列2種定義: • “the science of the management of money and other assets”，管理財富與其他資產之科學 • “the management of money, banking, investments, and credit”, 對於通貨、銀行業務、投資、與信用之管理。

  3. 當我們使用“finance”為動詞時, 可以有下列3種可能之意涵： • To finance can be to supply the funds or capitals for someone為了某人而提供專款或資本 • To finance can also mean to supply funds to someone對某人提供資金 • To finance may also mean to sell or provide someone certain things on credit以賒帳或憑信用方式銷售或提供某人某種事物

  4. 財務金融領域之核心信仰是衍生於財務經濟學(financial economics)。 • 一般化(generalization)是財務經濟學普遍使用之方法，用來表達一個適用於多種情況下之概念或者理論。 • 而財務金融是財務經濟學的實務經驗部門(empirical division)。

  5. 我們也常常以財務管理(financial management)來代表財務金融，因為管理是實務經驗裡非常重要的支柱。 • 財務管理亦是從財務經濟中區隔出一塊探索實務經驗的領域。
