  2. Introduction • Pondering questions... • How have you seen God’s Word used to give people a false sense of worldly hope? • Have you ever gone without eating before? How did that make you feel? What was your response when you could eat food again?

  4. Jesus and Food • Read Mark 6:1-2 • Why did these people follow Jesus? • What is the purpose of the Bible? • Why did Jesus come?

  5. Jesus and Food • Read John 6:3-4 • Who was Jesus with? • What feast was near? Explain. • How many years had it been since the first Passover? • What attitudes do you think were present in the Jews surrounding observing this feast?

  18. Jesus and Bread • God gave the Israelites manna from Heaven and water from the rock to save them from physical death in the wilderness. • These were pictures of Christ to come... • Jesus is the Rockthat supplies living water • Jesus is the Bread that supplies spiritual food

  20. Conclusion • It takes work to keep physical food on the table. We make the effort because we get hungry. • Physical food only satisfies your physical appetite. • How has your spiritual appetite been lately? Are you craving Jesus?
