  1. Opinions of social/cultural leader Interview of Maria- Kaisa Aula Ombudsman for Children in Finland

  2. Maria- Kaisa Aula: In Finland we have common puplic service for children and families witch support families in their work to raise up child and prevent neglecting. Neglecting in my opinioin means, that parents don`t respect childs human rights and don´t give that care, education and support that the child need.

  3. Maria- Kaisa Aula Neglecting can also be structual. Meaning that our law doesn´t recognize childs rights and there isn´t enough resource to child protection. One problem is that we have very good services that covers child in every age, but services aren´t working equally in every part of the country

  4. Maria- Kaisa Aula One social workercanhave to manyclients : No trustfullrelationshipbetweenclient and social worker No time for earlysupport Child welfare is under big national conversation ( 8 yearsoldchild case) Itshowsthatpeoplerequire for goodquality in childwelfare, but in the sametimetheythinkthatchildwelfareinterfere with family business tooeasy

  5. Maria-Kaisa Aula I think that problem in families get to hard and serious because there is not enough early support and help. It shows in the numbers of notice that are made about young welfare. Biggest problem in Finnish society is loneliness: the young doesn´t have enough adult or friends to be present

  6. Maria-Kaisa Aula Working life in Finland is too rush and demanding We also think in Finland that teenager survive alone and parents doesn´t need to interfere their business. Alcohol promblems are big issue. Main part of parents take good care of their childen, but there is small part of families that have several problems

  7. Maria-Kaisa Aula We should give information in schools about the rights that child have. We should also give more information for parents how to support their child in different ages. All them who are working with child and young need to be educated about how to meet and interact with them. ( Children self feel that they are not met right )
