  6. Pronounced [Kuhp-lit] Definition: Two consecutive lines that are of the same length and rhyme Couplet

  7. Quatrain Definition: A Quatrain is a stanza that has four lines. Usually they alternate rhymes (ABAB or ABCB are most common). Quatrains, cinquains, and couplets are often used to make up larger poems rather than standing on their own.

  8. Definition: Pronounced “SIN-kain” A Fixed Form poem, similar to a diamante, but composed of 5 lines.“Cinco” means five in Spanish. It has a syllable pattern of 2-4-6-8-2. They are always about one topic. This is considered the “Englishman’s Haiku.” It was created by Adelaide Craspey. Cinquain
