WRITE DOWN YOUR ANSWER # When you have the important facts about a situation, which one of the following statements seems to describe your action in making a decision. 1 - The answer just comes to you. 2- With the facts as they are, there is no need for delaying the decision. 3 - You want time to think about it. 4 - You want to consult a few more people 5 - You seek the final answer from a person whose judgment you respect. 6 - You keep changing your mind about the right answer.

  18. DECISION HANDOUT You have always been a surfer and love the ocean. Since you were a kid you have dreamed of living near the beach. A summer has never gone by when you have not been at the beach either spending time there alone or on an annual family vacation. You have a job that pays well, has you near family, and is a block away from the beach (your dream location). However you hate your boss and he/she makes your job an unpleasant one. You have just been offered your dream job, which includes more pay, however the job is located in Lebanon, Kansas, the center of the U.S.(yes I googled it), far away from the coast and family. What would you decide? And why?

Setting Goals Goals – something you aim for it takes planning and work TYPES OF GOALS • Short term – reach in a short period (finish research project by Friday) • Long term – plan to reach over extended period of time (graduate college) *often short term goals are steps in achieving long term goals

  22. Action plan – multistep strategy to identify and achieve your goals 1) Write it down Every Goal should be: • Important • Positive • Specific • Possible 2) Steps to achieve goal

  23. 3) Reasonable time frame 4) Sources for help 5) Evaluate Progress * Reward yourself when you reach a goal.

Your letter should be addressed to Future (your name),  And be divided up into the 5 following sections ME:  my hopes, fears, dreams, intentions, problems, concerns, likes, dislikes, joys, frustrations; what I like about myself; what I don’t like about myself; what I’m proud of; what I think about; what bothers me; who I am, etc.  MY WORLD:  a description of my home, bedroom, school, neighborhood, town; my favorite places to go; chores, pet(s), possessions, clothes, FAVORITES – books, music groups, movies, TV, etc.  WHAT I DO: my hobbies, pastimes, sports, school activities, what I do with friends, favorite snacks and foods, chores, how I spend my weekends, special activities I do, organizations I belong to, etc.  PEOPLE IN MY LIFE: my family, siblings, aunts & uncles, grandparents, friends, best friend(s), teachers, boyfriend, girlfriend, who I like, people I’d like to know better, people I admire and respect, MY FUTURE: (List 5 goals you wish to reach either before or following graduation) LETTER TO ME 2019
