  1. DØ PMG AgendaApril 19, 2001 • Overview (Weerts) • Detector status • Level 2 trigger (Varelas) • Level 1 and Level 3 trigger (Blazey) If time permits: • Financial status (Tuts) • Milestones

  2. SMT status have all the parts a matter of connecting (access) & commissioning SMT in quadrants; 228 detectors/quadrant Have read out connected part Goal: complete hookup in May shutdown

  3. Si Sensor To and from DAQ SMT readout front end system status

  4. Fiber Tracker; status • Waveguide Production and QC continue at a very small scale; completing FPS • VLPC cassettes Need 99 VLPC cassettes Goal: Complete fabrication by March 20 Done 101 fabricated, 93 characterized**, 89 ready for DØ (65 installed) Install as many cassettes as possible in May shutdown ** Slowed down because of AFE8 testing @ Lab3

  5. CFT, CPS, FPS AFE 8 AFE 12 L1 Trig VLPC VLPC DAQ Fiber tracker readout front end system status * Increase # AFE8; decrease #AFE12 to minimally readout CFT, CPS. Delay FPS (AFE12).

  6. Fiber Tracker; Electronics • Tracking Electronics • Analog Front End (AFE8) boards • Remade the PCB’s (146)( second set) • PCB’s completed in April by SANMINA • SANMINA waiting for stuffing go ahead • Many tests of prototype AFE8 @LAb3 over last 6 weeks - a lot of progress in understanding of this complicated board • Differential non-linearities in SVX readout ( work around developed); need photopeaks for calibration • Trigger (SIFT chip) working • Test not complete, but have to give go ahead with stuffing  give go ahead today @5:00pm Schedule for AFE8: Need access Installation of first batch in second half of June

  7. Status Overview; Electronics • Electronics • Calorimeter (ECS,CC,ECN) • All preamps (55K) and ADC’s installed • BLS: • All boards done; repairing • CC, ECS installed (2x4x96) • ECN, 50 % installed • CC commissioned; ECS 50% commissioned • CC instrumented for Level 1 Cal trigger • Muon • Forward all (pixels & MDT’s) done and commissioning • Central muon. • PDT: Total 94, 82 ready and 69 powered up • Scintillators all up & working • All 3 gas systems recirculating & cleaning Complete in May Complete in May

  8. Trigger Status • Separate talks by Blazey & Varelas

  9. Summary • Most detectors far along (SMT, CAL, MUON) • Fiber Tracker Electronics (AFE) critical & defines access • Trigger: need to speed up • Milestones at end if time
