  2. CLASSICAL CONDITIONING Classical conditioning is when an event or action triggers a response. It can be when you see someone you look up to performing an action and this triggers your response to be positive. For example- an elite athlete wearing a brand of clothes, this encourages you to go out and buy these clothes because you associate it with success. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5ibn2b-quU This is an ad for coke. It’s summer and there is a group of people having a good time in and around the water. After seeing this ad, it will encourage the viewer to go out and buy coke because they expect to have a good time.

  3. OPERANT CONDITIONING Is when a behaviour or an action is repeated due to a good outcome occurring when the action was first performed. It is also when positive reinforcement encourages the person to repeat the action. For example- if my parents continually told me that smoking was good and fun, I would be more likely to start smoking. Another example is if the first time a girl started drinking alcohol she kissed the boy she liked, she would be more likely to repeat the behaviour. This photo represents a girl having her first experience with alcohol. She is having a good time, therefore is more likely to repeat this behaviour.

  4. MODELLING Modelling is when a behaviour is adopted from people who we admire. It is when you copy the behaviour of somebody you look up to because you want to be like them. For example- if a boys parents always picked up the dog poo when walking the dog, the boy is more likely to repeat this behaviour because his parents are people he looks up to. This is a picture of a man walking his dogs. If he was to religiously pick up the dog poo, his son would be likely to copy.

  5. REPEATED EXPOSURE Repeated exposure is kind of another word for past experience. It is when you are around a behaviour for so long that you increase the likely hood of developing that attitude. Mere exposure effect is when you are continually exposed to a certain behaviour that you copy. This is a picture of a group of friends. If they were continually taking drugs, if would encourage you to adopt that behaviour because they were.
