Managing Incoming Traffic Distribution with MED: Strategies for AS1, AS2, and AS3

This article discusses optimizing traffic distribution from AS3 to AS1 using Multi-Exit Discriminator (MED) when high traffic is observed on the AS2 link. AS1 has established eBGP connections with AS2 and AS3 as different ISPs. We explore whether MED is an effective solution in this scenario and what configurations are necessary on the AS1 router. Additionally, guidance will be provided on the checks and configurations required on the AS2 and AS3 internet service providers to ensure smooth traffic distribution.
