  3. Scholarly Process • Consult the literature • Formulate research question(s) • Determine your methodology and methods • Conduct your project • Analyze data • Form conclusions • Disseminate findings

Scholarly Program • Research goal as a long-range plan • Break down project into manageable components • Example: Continuum of research • Forest: Assessment in Medical Education • Trees: Validity and Reliability • Underbrush: • Constructs of competence and performance in assessment • Assessing clinical skills with standardized patients • Training of examiners • Comparing written tests to performance tests Winter, F.
