The RAISE initiative, led by IU20’s Kathy Emeigh and Amaal Awadalla, targets improved educational outcomes in Pennsylvania by utilizing the Reading Apprenticeship framework to enhance reading skills across disciplines. Funded by a multi-million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s i3 program, this program focuses on intensifying professional development for secondary teachers and engaging multiple stakeholders in the reading process. RAISE aims to boost teaching practices, student attitudes towards reading, and overall comprehension through data-driven methods and collaborative learning.
