Installation Notes for Upgrade: User Rights, Backup, MATT, and Mobile Units

This document outlines essential installation notes for users regarding the upgrade process. All users must have UNIX access with S90/S92 and L49 rights. Post-upgrade, all areas will become MHAs, and it's crucial to check if you have DP areas or gates exceeding 5 characters, as MA will change automatically. A backup has been completed and saved to tape. If using the new MATT, ensure it's installed and activated during the upgrade. Additionally, a list of all mobile units is required. Downtime for the WASS upgrade is estimated at approximately 5 hours.

  1. Installation Notes Customer • Users (all users need unix+S90/S92+L49rights). • All Areas now MHAs after upgrade. Do you have dp areas or gates with more than 5 char? MA will change automatically at upgrade, pls inform. • MAReorg one week before upgrade. • Backup finished and written to tape. • If using new MATT this needs to be installed (can be done in advance) and activated (must be done at upgrade). Another solution is to redefine the users to run new MATT with L48 as G-Link. • MA need a list of all Mobile units with the syntax; Decimal address in L47T1 <TAB> Nodename (locale host table or DNS).
