  8. Our Throughlines How can teachers untangle and navigate student thinking? How can we use student work to align curriculum to our students’ needs? How can we use student work to strengthen and evolve our classroom's Culture of Thinking?

  10. Thinking Routines “…thinking routines: simple strategies for scaffolding thinking that were designed to be woven into a teacher’s ongoing classroom practice.” Ritchhart, Making Thinking Visible 2011

  11. CSI • Learning goal: This exercise asks learners to determine a color, symbol, and image that “captures the essence of an idea”. (Ritchhart, Church, Morrison).

  16. When Whitman wrote, “I sing the body electric” I know what he meant I know what he wanted: to be completely alive every moment in spite of the inevitable. We can’t cheat death but we can make it work so hard that when it does take us it will have known a victory just as perfect as ours.
