  3. What Should We teach? Academics Soft Skills Teamwork Time Management Communication Problem Solving • Basic Numeracy • English Language Skills • Reading Comprehension What else should we teach?

  4. Contextualized Teaching in the context of work • Using a checkbook to teach math is GREAT if all learners have and use a checkbook. • Teaching area is by using the example of measuring for carpet is GREAT if learners will be measuring carpet. What other examples do we use?

Authentic Teaching skills using examples that are relevant to learners’ lives • Using job-specific vocabulary examples for learners who are seeking employment in a specific field is GREAT! • Using recipe examples to teach fractions is GREAT when working with a learner who wants to prepare foods in a kitchen. What other examples do we use?
