  12. Region 4 – IEEE Mentoring • IEEE Mentoring Connection: The IEEE Mentoring Connection Program is looking for “online” mentors to help guide younger professionals in career planning and professional development. Currently, over 1100 Mentees and 500 Mentors have registered to participate with over 247 active mentoring partnerships. Program participation is open to all IEEE members above the grade of Student Member. Invitations went out to Graduate Student Members to join the program during December 2007. • Within Region 4, there are 28 members signed up as mentors in the program. In this group, 5 mentors are in active mentoring partnerships with mentees from Ghana, Illinois, Japan, New York, Texas and Vermont (one mentor has 2 mentees). Additionally, 62 members have signed up as mentees, and 6 are in active partnerships with mentors from California, Colorado, Connecticut, and France. The wide geographic range of participating members illustrates the diverse cultures, experiences and skills of those involved in the program. • Interested members can visit http://www.ieee.org/mentoring for information on the roles and responsibilities of each mentoring partner.
