  14. Differences between male and female pelvis • Female lighter • Female thinner • Female has less obvious muscle attachment sites • Obturator foramina smaller & further apart • Acetabulum smaller & further apart

  15. Differences between male and female pelvis Pubic arch in female is more “U” shaped. Pubic arch in male is more “V” shaped

  23. Calcaneous is the heel bone that Achilles tendon is attached to. It is also the largest tarsal.

MALE = Sacrum is long with pronounced sacral curvature FEMALE = Sacrum broad, short less curvature MALE = Coccyx points anteriorly FEMALE = Coccyx points Inferiorly MALE = Bone weight is heavier FEMALE = Bone weight lighter MALE = Bone markings more prominent FEMALE = Bone markings less prominent
